Our Roots

Since 2001, California has played host to the largest share of refugees looking to start a new life in the United States. Many of these people now call the San Francisco Bay Area home - in the past five years, our region has welcomed more than 2,500 refugees. Out of a desire to love, serve, and provide for the specific needs of our new neighbors, we founded Seed Academy in 2017 in partnership with New Vision Church.

Our name was inspired by a verse in the Bible that states that if you have faith the size of a mustard seed, nothing will be impossible (Matthew 17:20). In faith, we hope that God will use our love, service, and prayers to make a positive impact in the lives of refugee families living in the Bay Area.
